Dr Hannes Gebauer OAM

Dr Hannes Gebauer is the founding director of Fremantle Dermatology, which first opened its doors in 1986. He holds a bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Western Australia, completed in 1979. He was awarded Fellowship of the Australasian College of Dermatology in January 1986 and became an International Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology in 1987. Among his many appointments, he was formerly Head of Department: Dermatology at Fremantle Hospital and a visiting dermatologist to the Pilbara.

Hannes is a strong supporter of hockey: he is a life member and a former president of Old Aquinians Hockey Club. He was awarded the Medal of the order of Australia in 2016 for his services to medicine in the field of dermatology, and to Hockey.

Fremantle Dermatology provides essential services and our doctors are still seeing patients. This ensures your pressing clinical needs are met in a timely fashion.

Government and health directives regarding COVID-19 prevention are being followed to minimise risk to patients and staff. These include but are not limited to:

– Increased spacing of appointments to reduce clinic numbers.

– Convenience to wait outside in your car or on the verandah to reduce time spent within the clinic.

– Social distancing measures.

– Reduced staff numbers.

Please do not fail to attend your appointment without notifying us.

We have never charged patients when they fail to attend. Please call and speak to a staff member in order to determine the urgency of your condition. Alternatives to in-person consultations may be available. This will allow your dermatological needs to be met in a safe environment and provide employment for our staff.
